The Captain
The Pesca de Oro is operated by Captain David Wolfson, a USCG licensed 100-ton captain since 1993.
David’s desire to be a fisherman began at an early age when his father took him on every trip he could, even if it meant playing hooky from school
on occasional. David started his career at age 14 when he went to work for Don Brockman aboard the Freelance. He then became a deckhand for Frank
LoPreste on the Royal Polaris, and went on to operate as second captain aboard the Royal Star for Tim Ekstrom.
At age 22, he ran his first 10-day trip and had an outstanding catch. After participating in some of the best operations on the coast David decided
to “throw his hat in the ring.” In the spring of 2000, he acquired the HI-COUNT and brought a new and aggressive 6-pack operation to Southern
California. After 6 successful years as an owner/operator he felt it was time for a change and began a new endeavor aboard the Pesca de Oro. From
purchasing this fine vessel in Florida to conducting a full west coast refit to make her one of the finest boats in her class, David has been
involved every step of the way. His passion for the ocean has been a lifelong affair and when it comes to experience he has fished everywhere
from the Channel Islands for Rockcod all the way down to Clipperton for Giant Yellowfin Tuna.

Cameras, or the bridge electronics from every flat screen onboard. If music is your thing we have XM satellite radio and a large CD collection. Pesca
de Oro is wired for sound with speakers in each room and the cockpit. Next is the galley where we will prepare some of the finest fair on the high seas.
Our dining room table seats 5 and often doubles as a poker parlor. Downstairs you will find 3 staterooms, each equipped with their own climate control
system, television, VCR, head and shower. Along with ample storage we also have a washer and dryer for multi day trips.
Out on deck you will find we are serious about fishing. From the double bait tank the size of a compact car, to rocket launchers and outriggers, to the
